Join our comprehensive 2-day Shirt Sewing Course and learn the skills needed to create a beautifully tailored shirt. Whether you’re a confident beginner or an experienced sewist, this workshop will guide you through every step—from cutting fabric to finishing details like collars, cuffs, and buttonholes.

 What You’ll Learn:

•  Preparing and cutting your fabric with precision
•  Constructing collars, cuffs, and plackets with professional techniques
•  Mastering buttonholes and attaching buttons effortlessly
•  Handling tricky fabrics and achieving neat topstitchin

To Bring: 

2.50 metres of Woven fabrics such as cotton, linen, or silk.

What’s Included:

• Printed shirt pattern and instructions choose from the Wardrobe by me Anna women's shirt or  Jensen
• Gutermans threads provided
• Access to Janome M100 and Janome 6700 professional sewing machines
• Use of overlockers for clean finishes 
• Interfacing
• buttons or your can bring your own 
• Step-by-step guidance from an experienced tutor

We are using the Anna Shirt sewing pattern for the women's shirt —a timeless classic that combines sophistication and versatility. This beautifully designed shirt features tailored cuffs, a sharp collar with a stand, a handy pocket, and an elegantly curved hemline. The Anna Shirt is ideal for those who love the satisfaction of creating a finely detailed garment. From choosing your fabric to finishing every detail, this pattern promises a fulfilling sewing experience.

The Mens shirt is Jensen Shirt Sewing Pattern Wardrobe by me s the perfect choice for a classic button-up, offering all the traditional details. This pattern features a button placket, a classic collar with a stand, cuffed sleeves, and a back yoke. With its relaxed fit, it provides comfort without sacrificing a polished appearance. The shirt also has a slightly longer curved hem at the back, making it ideal for casual wear. Customize your Jensen Shirt with options for short or long sleeves, a pleated or unpleated back, and an optional front pocket

There is limited on-street parking in Stapleford  so we recommend one of the Broxtowe council carparks the nearest being Halls Road (2 minute walk)   https://www.broxtowe.gov.uk/for-you/roads-parking-travel/car-parks/stapleford-car-parks/  or the Derby Road Central Car park on Derby Road 

If you are arriving from Nottingham or Derby via the Trent Barton I4 the stop is Halls Road.
