Introduction to Machine Embroidery Workshop

Discover the art of machine embroidery in this hands-on, beginner-friendly workshop! Perfect for sewing enthusiasts who want to add a personal, creative touch to their projects, this class will guide you through the basics of using your embroidery machine with confidence.

What you’ll learn:

• Setting up and threading the Janome MC550E embroidery machine (will have embroidery machine each person)

• Choosing the right stabilizers and fabrics

• Understanding and using built-in embroidery designs

• Basic techniques for applique, lettering, and decorative stitching

• Tips for troubleshooting common machine embroidery issues

By the end of the session, you’ll have completed your own embroidered design and gained the skills to continue creating at home. Guidance is tailored to each participant, and all skill levels are welcome.

Travel

There is limited on-street parking in Stapleford  so we recommend one of the Broxtowe council carparks the nearest being Halls Road (2 minute walk)   https://www.broxtowe.gov.uk/for-you/roads-parking-travel/car-parks/stapleford-car-parks/  The care park is £1.00 all day Monday to Friday and Free Saturday and Sunday (please double the machine in the car park)

If you are arriving from Nottingham or Derby via the Trent Barton I4 the stop is Halls Road.

Tea/ coffee to make.  Plus lots of cafe's very near to Sewing B to purchase coffee/tea and food.
