Martha Dress Sewing Workshop

In this workshop, you’ll create Martha, a loose-fitting, mid-length dress designed for comfort and style. Featuring a flattering V-neckline, short sleeves with a wide trim, and a distinctive centre-front seam that can include a subtle front split, Martha is both practical and stylish.

You’ll learn essential techniques including:

• Sewing V-necklines and short sleeves

• Adding top-stitched pockets

• Constructing centre-front seams and optional splits

• Attaching a wrap-style wide belt

Martha is highly versatile—wear her loose for a relaxed look or cinched with the belt for a more defined silhouette. Choose solid fabrics to highlight the pockets and seam detailing, or have fun with prints and colours for a fresh summer wardrobe piece.

Workshop Outcome: By the end of the session, you’ll take home a fully finished dress, along with the confidence to customise and style it in your favourite fabrics.

To Bring 3.5 metres of the following fabrics:

Choose a light to medium weight fabric like viscose, fine cotton, tencel, polyester, linen,

• Matching Gutterman thread.
• Martha sewing pattern and instructions 
• Use of Janome Digital Sewing machines Janome 6700 and Janome 6234XL overlockers

  There is limited on-street parking in Stapleford  so we recommend one of the Broxtowe council carparks the nearest being Halls Road (2 minute walk)   https://www.broxtowe.gov.uk/for-you/roads-parking-travel/car-parks/stapleford-car-parks/  Free all day parking Saturday and Sundays

  If you are arriving from Nottingham or Derby via the Trent Barton I4 the stop is Halls Road.
