Merchant & Home Quilt or Sofa Topper Workshop
Looking to create something both beautiful and practical for your home? In this relaxed and rewarding workshop, you'll make your own quilted sofa topper or lap quilt — perfect for adding a handmade touch to your living space or gifting to someone special.
Inspired by the timeless aesthetic of Merchant & Mills, this project focuses on simple design, natural fibres, and slow sewing techniques that are ideal for both beginners and seasoned sewists.

Each participant will receive a copy of the Merchant & Mills 'House', book (retails £20 each) which features the the topper pattern we'll be working from — a beautiful and inspiring guide you can keep and use again.
In this workshop, you’ll learn how to:
– Choose and prepare your fabrics
– Use simple quilting techniques with wadding
– Construct a layered quilt topper
– Add clean, stylish finishes like hand or machine binding
– Create a minimalist, modern homeware piece that’s uniquely yours
