SEWING LEVEL:  Intermediate, or adventurous Advanced Beginner

A useful and fun backpack to make! It’s great for any outing where you need to be hands free! The foldover top and closure keep things secure, while the front zippered pocket keeps essentials within easy reach. Adjustable straps make it wearable in any season.

Requirements based on 44”-wide fabric.

  • ¾ yard (½ yard if 54”-wide fabric) Exterior Fabric
  • ½ yard Contrast Bottom Fabric
  • 1 ½ yards Lining Fabric (includes exterior closure, straps, and interior pocket)
Waxed canvas, cork fabric, cotton canvas, cotton/linen canvas, denim for exterior and contrast bottom fabrics
Quilting cottons, cottons for lining

The workshop will start at 10 am. Please arrive ten minutes early to register and a cuppa. Please note our new sewing studio is now ready to use.  The address is as follows:

There is limited on-street parking in Stapleford  so we recommend one of the Broxtowe council carparks the nearest being Halls Road (2 minute walk) 

If you are arriving from Nottingham or Derby via the Trent Barton I4 the stop is Halls Road.

Refreshments of Tea / coffee / biscuits are provided for this course, however you may wish bring a bottle of water with a replaceable lid into the classroom with you. If you would like a hot drink prior to the start of the course there is Gusto Cafe very near to the Sew at 174 building and many independent coffee shops in the town.
