Sewing Technical Techniques Workshop – Seams & Seam Finishes
Gain an understanding of alternative seam finishes used in garment and bag construction. Learn how different seam techniques can be applied to a variety of fabrics and projects to create strong, durable, and professional-looking finishes.
During this technical workshop, you will explore a range of seam construction methods and develop your sewing skills by creating a technical file containing fabric samples, learning aids, and notes to take home for future reference.
This workshop will include the following techniques:
- Basic Seams
- French Seams
- Felled Seams
- Bound Seams
- Welt Seams

- Fabric pieces pre-cut and ready to sew
The Sewing Studio is fully equipped with Janome sewing machines and overlockers, along with all the tools and equipment needed to complete your technical samples.

The parking is limited on-street parking in Stapleford so we recommend one of the Broxtowe council carparks the nearest being Halls Road (2 minute walk) https://www.broxtowe.gov.uk/for-you/roads-parking-travel/car-parks/stapleford-car-parks/
If you are arriving from Nottingham or Derby via the Trent Barton I4 the stop is Halls Road.
