Join us for an immersive day of learning essential shirt-making techniques! In this workshop, you will gain in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with shirt collars, cuffs, and plackets, perfecting the crisp lines that are key to professional-quality garments.
What You Will Learn:
- How to sew a shirt collar
- Creating a sample shirt placket with buttonholes and buttons
- Sewing a sample cuff with a button
In this workshop, you will work on samplers and mock-ups of garment sections, allowing you to practice the techniques in a focused way. Learn to sew collars and cuffs, the trickiest parts of shirt-making, with step-by-step instructions for precision and clean results. You’ll receive demonstrations, hands-on practice, and expert guidance throughout the day, helping you refine your skills and apply them across various fabrics.
Workshop Includes:
- Gutterman thread.
- All fabrics needed for the samples cut and ready to sew
- Use of Janome Digital Sewing machines M100 QDC

There is limited on-street parking in Stapleford, so we recommend using one of the Broxtowe Council car parks. The nearest one is Halls Road, just a 2-minute walk away. You can find more information about car parks here. Parking is free all day on Saturdays and Sundays.
If you’re travelling from Nottingham or Derby, take the Trent Barton I4 bus; the nearest stop is Halls Road.
