The Book Club Sewing Workshop

Fairfax Jacket Size 12 - 32

The Fairfax Jacket from the Cashmerette Sewing the Curve book by Jenny Rushmore

The Fairfax Jacket is a loosely fitted, quilted jacket with huge potential for creativity!

For a quick and easy sew, it can be made with pre-quilted fabric, or you can make your own out of any woven fabric you like.  Get creative with a fun quilted stitching pattern, or even create you own patchwork fabric - the sky is the limit.  The Fairfax jacket includes a lot of bias-bound  edges, great for adding a touch of colour and practising your bias binding skills.

Choose from two views: a hip-length view with patch pockets or a cropped view with an optional tie closure.

New skills to learn

  • Creating quilted fabric (optional)
  • Sewing darts
  • Sewing visible bias binding
  • sewing patch pockets (View A)
  • Inserting a sleeve using the "set-in" method

We will be working from the Sewing the Curve book by Jenny Rushmoor of Cashmerette.  We will have copies for every one to sue, or there is the option to purchase the book with the workshop

We will be also running a Book club social evening to discuss this book and Fairfax jacket pattern Thursday 1st August 7pm to 9pm See following link to book
