Two-Day Draping & Pattern Making Course

Take your garment-making skills to the next level with this creative two-day draping course, designed for sewists who want to explore pattern cutting by shaping fabric directly on the dress stand.

Over two full days, you’ll learn how to drape fabric onto a mannequin to create your own garment designs while gaining a better understanding of fit, balance, and garment construction.

During the course, you will learn how to:

• Prepare and mark fabric for draping
• Pin and shape fabric on the stand
• Create darts, gathers, pleats, and design details
• Explore neckline, sleeve, and skirt variations
• Drape your own garment design ideas
• Transfer your draped design into a sewing pattern
• Add seam allowances, markings, and construction notes
• Refine fit and proportions

Once your design has been draped, you’ll learn how to take your fabric pieces apart and turn them into usable pattern pieces that you can recreate again in different fabrics.

This course is ideal for confident beginners, intermediate sewists, fashion students, or anyone wanting to explore a more creative approach to designing and making their own clothes.

By the end of the two days, you’ll leave with new draping skills, a better understanding of pattern making, and your own handmade sewing pattern to use again at home.
